"I've Been To The Mountaintop" — Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
One of my favorite speeches of all time. Transformative. Musical. And every time I study it, three things hit me straight in the chest:
1. The pauses. The patience. The discipline to slow down so the idea can land before the emotion takes over.
2. The repetition.“Somewhere I read…” “Somewhere I read…” The intentional echo that builds power, meaning, and momentum.
3. The emotion. He felt this from his soul. And you can feel that he felt it. That’s The Art of Speaking With Confidence — not performing confidence, but expressing what you deeply believe.
The skill is the pacing. The mastery is the repetition. But the heart is speaking about things you truly care about.
