Book Blurb
OK...I wasn't sure what section to put this in, so I'm sticking with General...
I’m working on the back-cover blurb for my upcoming book Marketing My Book on a Tight Budget – Simple Steps for New Authors. I’d really value your honest feedback before I lock it in.
Here’s the draft blurb:
Most new authors launch their book with more passion than pennies. However, that very moment you hit publish, you become the CEO of a business, and your book is the product. Where do you start to market your product when the budget is thin, and the options feel overwhelming?
In Marketing My Book on a Tight Budget – Simple Steps for New Authors, Kevin M. Hall shares the real-world strategies he uses to make consistent book sales without breaking the bank. From free tools to smart low-cost steps, you’ll discover practical ways to reach readers, build momentum, and keep climbing, one step at a time.
This isn’t a “get rich quick” promise, nor an offer for other paid for services. It’s a guide to getting your feet wet, learning the ropes, and seeing results while you grow as an author. Along the way, you’ll find encouragement, resources, and proof that steady progress is possible, even on a tight budget.
If you’re ready to take your first step toward book marketing success, grab this book, find your footing, and start ascending those stairs with confidence.
These questions are not part of the blurb - but are thought starters for you all reading this.
To keep it focused, I’ve put together a few questions (answer as many as you like):
1. Does the opening grab your attention?
2. Is it clear what the book will help you do?
3. Is the promise believable and appealing?
4. Does the tone feel approachable for new authors?
5. How does the final call-to-action land with you?
6. Would you click “Look Inside” or add to your cart if you saw this on Amazon?
Thanks so much for your input, it’s a huge help.
