Would Auction not work in Chess niche?

I talked to someone in the chess niche about partnering on auctions.

He has a free community with 1.3K members and 50 daily active members.

And a paid one, He has launched this week at $39/month and has 6 members.

Works with an operator.

He didn’t see how auctions fit his niche.

He didn’t believe auctions could hit ten-grand months.

He kept comparing auctions to his reliable YouTube to paid community funnel.

And I found myself trying not to convince… but also not wanting to ignore the questions either.

That’s where I got stuck.

What would you say to someone smart, reasonable, and simply asking, “Why would auctions outperform what’s already working in my niche?”
