Wearing Your Newbie Shirt...
Travis talks about wearing your newbie shirt like it's neon-yellow and can't go unnoticed.
Well, I was talking to those of us who were in Little Rock this past week and it reminded me...
When I started out in this digital marketing world, I was young. And I looked younger.
I had the biggest hang up about this...
"Who would pay me? I'm too young!"
Then I had a chat with another copywriter who took me under his wing at the time.
His advice was the same as what Travis teaches...
Wear your newbie shirt.
He helped me come up with the name "The Baby-Faced Assassin".
I'd post on the Warrior Forum under this branding, saying...
"Yes I am young, but I know my shit!"
It launched my career.
People liked the branding...
They liked that I wasn't trying to put on a deep voice and grow my (pitiful) facial hair...
And instead it directed their thoughts away from my youth and into the substance of my message.
So it goes to show...
Travis knows a thing or two.
