I reached out to someone who doubled the upsell take rate for a client.
So I asked if he wanted more clients and floated the idea of using auctions to find people who’d pay for his strategy.
He liked the idea…Until he said this:
“I don’t work with just anybody. I charge $10K–$15K for a buildout. I handpick clients. It’s usually something that gets discussed over a call.”
That’s where I froze.
Because he’s not wrong.
But I’m wondering...
Is there a clean way for someone like this to use auctions without cheapening their positioning? Or… is auction just not the right tool here?
