I have read a lot about the style-quotient of the historical chore coat (Antonio has a video too). Unfortunately, there aren't many makers around in India. But, that was only until now when I found an MTM designer (in Bangalore), and I quickly grabbed my piece! We had a date night last Sunday. My OOTD consisted of: LAYERING PIECE: Sand chore coat in cotton twill (9 Oz) MTM TEE: Burnt orange in supima cotton TROUSERS: Beige cotton MTM SHOES: Tan moccasins in nubuck leather WATCH: Saddle tan strap, gold on silver frame BRACELET: Tiger Eye BELT: Cognac reversible with traditional holes The chore coat has stylish flap pockets at the bottom but the upper pockets are hidden inside (this is how they have reinvented the style). Yesterday, I sported this outfit for my weekly office hustle. Since I received a very positive feedback on RMRS on my casual date night dress with my new chore coat, I decided to dress up for the office by swapping the Tee in this outfit (https://www.skool.com/rmrs/the-dressier-chore-coat?p=3d485016) with a royal blue shirt (with very small prints). I also brought in my chocolate brown derbies for the moccasins and wore tan crew socks to complete the look. THE TOP: Button up shirt with small prints (dots) in royal blue (100% cotton and wrinkle resistant). THE LAYER: Sand chore coat in cotton twill (9 Oz) THE BOTTOM: Beige MTM chinos with high waist. THE WATCH: Brown strap, gold-on-silver dial frame. THE FOOTWEAR: Brown derbies. THE BELT: Tan (reversible with black leather). THE SOCKS: Crew in beige. THE PERFUME: Solid cologne. There is small detail worth noting. After pulling my jacket sleeves up to my elbows, I folded my shirt sleeves and then folded the sleeves of the jacket to get a double fold look with about half-an-inch peep of the shirt fabric underneath the jacket folded sleeves. This took some time to achieve; nevertheless, I am not complaining 🙂! I got a couple of complements ("great jacket" and "looking superb" 🙂) from my colleagues. LATE post today. It's been done but, as I was trying to wrap up items before heading out for a few days, internet went out in the office. I got to play IT for 3 hours before I finally got it resolved so the office could have this essential service without worrying about rectifying it themselves. The herringbone weave provides subtle texture while maintaining formality 5/5. Made in Vietnam, featuring a classic point collar and adjustable French cuffs for cufflink presentation. High opacity ensures no undershirt show-through. • Slacks — SL-026 (Suitsupply): Mid blue wool-silk-linen blend suit trousers from the Havana line. Summer weight plain weave with high rise, hook & bar closure, and side-adjusters plus suspender buttons. Made in Italy, these straight-leg trousers with slight cuffs deliver business classic formality with excellent warm-weather breathability. Part of a new Suitsupply Havana suit (SJ-017 pairing). • Suspenders — SB-009 (Kirby Allison): Burgundy silk with white London dot pattern on Y-back configuration. UK-made with silver metal hardware and black calf leather button attachments. 1.5" width, fully adjustable. The burgundy ties to the tie and cufflinks while the silver hardware coordinates with the vest buckle. • Vest — VWC-004 (Perry Ellis): Natural linen herringbone waistcoat with cream/bone buttons and silver dual-direction rear buckle. The single-breasted 5-button design with slot pockets provides layered business formality while the breathable linen fabric maintains comfort in warmer weather. • Necktie — NT-068 (Brownstone): Red ancient madder silk with blue, ivory, and olive medallion pattern. 3-fold construction with slip stitch, tipped, 56" length and 3.5" width. USA-made (via Poshmark bundle). The low-sheen finish and 2/5 pattern scale delivers refined business formal presence without overpowering. The burgundy/red tones echo the suspenders and cufflinks. I believe something in the Poshmark post was wrong, as I have never seen ancient madder made in the USA...
