Wooden trouser clamp hangers
I now swear by these as the most useful way to hang pants, especially if you have unlimited vertical and horizontal space (if you want to see a dream closet, check out the video by next weeks guest speaker- Raphael of Gentleman’s Gazette - OMG). I have ten pairs of odd dress slacks and a few months back I switched to the Kirby Allison Luxury Wooden Trouser Clamp Hangers based on his video and very positive feedback. Why are they so much better? The reverse weighting basically hangs the wrinkles out of these slacks. My matched suit trousers and odd trousers get a steaming every three wears which usually get most of the wrinkles. Hanging the suit trousers in half on their suit hangers does little to get wrinkles out between steamings. These clamps do and within a few days at most.
To be clear, any similar clamp hanger would work equally well. Arterton sells some as well. The downsides are on space. Most two-row closets (one row above another) don’t give the need vertical clearance. We redesigned ours when we moved in as I am a bit taller and can reach up higher. We saw no benefit to the typical shelf, above the top hanger bar, that my wife would never be able to use/reach. The horizontal space is a two edged sword. You can see that the clamp design creates space between hangers, thereby lessening density of clothes in that section. While that means fewer items in the same space, it also creates a buffer between the slacks to ensure they don’t bunch up together. Every time I pull out a pair of odd slacks, they look very much ready for the day.
