NJ Tailor Recommendations
Yelp has been of no help haha, I tired about three different tailors. They’re not bad but the alterations I feel as though could be a lot better. If anyone has experience with a tailor that’d you recommend in NJ I’d appreciate it.
What I’m Looking for in a Tailor
  • Classic, Timeless Style: Understands traditional menswear (natural shoulders, proper break, lapel width), Prioritizes clean, elegant lines over trendy or overly slim fits, Creates clothing that will look good 5+ years from now
  • Skill & Precision: Ensures proper drape fits clothes to my body
  • Communication & Guidance: Explains tailoring choices clearly, Will push back if I request something that will ruin the garment’s look
  • Professional Atmosphere: Quiet, professional shop with fabric books and proper pressing area, Appointment style or detail oriented (not rushed)
  • Quality Service & Finishing: Can shorten sleeves from the shoulder, Can suppress the waist on jackets properly, Offers trouser hemming with cuff/no cuff options, Presses and finishes garments cleanly with no puckering
  • Overall Vibe: Understands subtle elegance, traditional
