Looking back on your style evolution
As we are approaching the end of the year, it's usually a good time to take things into retrospect.
Since this is a style community, I would like "how has your style has evolved?"
What are some of the things you've learnt throughout your journey? Any key insights that has (dramatically) changed how you view clothing?
I'd like to share some insight of how my style has changed and what I personally (and that is my opinion) like to wear these days. What key areas I focus on when buying or wear clothes moving forward.
  1. Slim cut -> Full cut
As I'm getting older, being comfortable has become more important.
Which means that suits that were slim fit, kind of feel restricting for me. Not that I bought my suits overly tight but low rise trousers for example just don't feel comfortable if you sit with them for a longer period of time. Another beautiful aspect of a fuller cut is the drape of the suit, there is no visible bunching of the fabric. Everything just flows natural.
2. Low rise - > High rise
Just like my first point, a high rise trouser is a real game changer.
Even just a simple combo as a shirt and trouser drastically changes.
Shirts that I initially found unflattering on me suddenly looked better, it also doesn't really hurt if you wear it with a little muffin top. If you haven't tried it yet, I can only recommend it!
Not only does it elongate your legs but also will compliment your suit jackets/sport coats. That way you don't have that awkward little piece of tie sticking underneath your buttoned jacket above your pants.
3. (Bold) Color -> Texture
I used to focus more on different colors but nowadays I dress more tonal, for some this may be boring but for me there is something pretty elegant and effortless with the cohesiveness it gives. With tonal dressing, I've gotten a deeper appreciation for texture. It's something you can easily glance over but can definitely make a boring outfit more visually striking.
I could honestly write more but these are definitely the most important things I've learnt and wanted to share! I'll also show a picture of how my style looked like before and after.
In the end it's still a journey, even if your style hasn't evolved much as long as you are learning you are well on your way. Good luck Gents!
