We haven't had an official weekly challenge on here in a while, so how about an unofficial one?
Here are the rules:
- You must pick one specific type of item (it could be the same item, such as a pair of jeans or a pair of shoes, or just a specific type of item, such as a plain t-shirt, a Henley, an OCBD, or a cardigan - for example) from your closet to be the focal point of three different outfits.
- Each outfit should fall into the middle-game area of formality - above just jeans and a t-shirt, but below a casual suit.
- Each outfit should demonstrate a noticeably different level of formality.
- Each outfit should still be harmonious, overall, in its formality.
- Make a 'Weekly Challenges!' post before 2025-12-20 with "Up And Down Challenge" somewhere in the title, that showcases all three outfits (pictures required) and identifies the focal-point item (links to OOTD posts are okay, here).
Bonus Points:
- Colors, patterns, and textures! The more the merrier - as long as it works.
- Accessories matter! Bonus points for creative, harmonious use of accessories - especially when the accessories factor into the difference in the overall level of formality.
- Getting out of your comfort zone! Bonus points for trying outfits at a different level of formality than you typically wear.
The point of this challenge is to practice some of those outfit habits I mentioned in the aforementioned post - specifically practising wearing outfits spanning all levels of formality, not just one or two.
I may reach out to a couple of Generals for judging assistance, if they're willing, but I'll retain the deciding vote. If we get at least 20 qualified entries (following the rules), there will be a monetary prize!
Who will accept this challenge?
