2026 Woodshedding
Woodshedding is a term musicians will recognize. It can be a used in multiple applications but basically refers to getting away and honing a skill. With our “wake” for my buddy Timmy on the 23rd approaching, as the guy who is putting the gig together, I have to remember to practice so I have my set up ready for 2o minute run throughs in my home office. Wishing everyone a productive ‘26 both vocationally and avocationally.

Hmm, the only woodshedding term I've been familiar with is being taken out behind one. I think I like this one better... 😁
Heels to Add Height?
You hear this phrase a lot. People will often say that you can wear heels to add height. But does it really work? Personally, I view this whole mindset as a sign of weakness. Whatever your actual height, the optical illusion of an extra half an inch, or an inch, or even two inches doesn't actually change anything about you. Plus, the greater the disparity between your dressed and undressed height, the more likely it is to be recognized. Think about a woman who wears too much makeup and uses it to completely change the look of her face. When that makeup rubs off on your pillow case, you wake up next to a stranger - and end up asking yourself who you went to bed with. Do you really want her waking up the next morning and, while you're walking around barefoot, thinking, "Gee, I thought he was taller..."? Or even worse, after you've been married a few years, your wife ends up playfully teasing you about not going out in public without wearing your "tall shoes"... Even though she thinks it's cute and is simply being playful, you'll know she's right. You don't want to leave the house without faking that extra inch or so of height. Keeping that mindset will do nothing but eat away at your self-confidence. I think it's much healthier to own your height - whatever it is. If you're tall, be tall, If you're short, be short. If you're average, be average. Whatever you are, just be you. Thoughts?

@Raymond Reeves That's an excellent point and ties back into buying clothes that actually fit you. I would wager that there are a lot of men who should be shopping at providers such as those but who refuse to do so because they don't want to admit to themselves that they are, in fact, on the shorter side. I also wonder if men are letting their egos make them purchase - and wear - pants with inseams that are too long... A man can be otherwise immaculately dressed but having pants puddling up around the shoes makes the entire outfit look clownish. Whether it's ignorance or ego causing the problem, the end result is the same...

@Brian McGuire Good point. - Dressing to fit your body is a good thing. - Dressing to hide or disguise your body is a bad thing. I think the difference truly comes down to mindset...
Having Hair Problems, Gents.
Hey everyone, I'm 20 years old so I feel a bit young to be having this issue, but it's been bugging me for a few years now... I used to have really thick and "healthy" hair, but over the last few years my hair has thinned out a lot and is looking patchy. It is becoming harder and harder to feel confident about my hair as it continues and as it becomes easier to notice parts of my scalp. Any tips or tricks to help? I have not been into a hair doctor yet (do they have those?), but I think that might be an option soon... I want to make sure I don't further damage it, though. Thanks, Gentlemen!

The first question to answer is the why. If it's environmental or behavioral, that can be addressed. If it's genetic - at this point - it's almost always going to be a losing battle. My hair started out thin and started thinning even more in my early 20s. Of course, at the time I had to wear very short hair - so it wasn't all that noticeable. I kept wearing a high-and-tight for a few years (even after I was no longer required to do so) until even that failed to hide the obvious. At some point, I decided to punt and just shave my head. I regretted it almost immediately. Not that I shaved my head and embraced the bald look - I regretted that I hadn't made that decision years earlier.
How many of us gentlemen have one?? The very VERY helpful valet...
I remember as a little kid my mother either telling me to or laying my clothes out for the next day for me/myself. I had first seen valets in my early twenties and again in my mid thirties and just some years ago a friend gave me one and I really really like it so I think I want to upgrade in the not-too-distant future. Do yous guys have one and what does it look like. I'd like to build my own so I'm lookin' at ideas. Thanks in advance, gentleman.

I have one. I don't use it every day but, usually, multiple times a week... https://www.skool.com/rmrs/my-new-valet

I spend almost every day trying my best to make computers behave better than they did the day before - and I've been doing that for decades...
