Corduroy Pants for winter (please, not yet)
Happy Sunday. I know the fall/winter season is far off and we here in the NE have been in a perpetual heatwave, but I'd like some advice on corduroy pants. I see there has been a little talk lately but thought a full discussion would help as I like to plan ahead.
My plan to move to Mexico to be with my family has been put on further hold. I originally moved in with my parents (in their 90s) two years ago. Dad was going down and did eventually pass in March. Now I am caring for Mom. While going strong for her age, she's still in need of daily care. Anyone who's gone through this knows what I mean.
Back to cords. I had skewed my newer wardrobe to hot weather here and Mex in mind. My last winter clothes were really dated and too big. With the fall/winter approaching I think I will need a few pair of cord pants. I'm good with shirts, sweaters and tweed jackets. I figure 3 pairs: a black, rust and stone/beige/another color would be enough to get me through the season. But I don't know how many seasons I'm going to be here. Should I go inexpensive like Target; move up to LL Bean or is there something better? I think I'll use them to go out, but also just for lounging.
I know there's differences in whales and such, but do cords shrink? My mother has the habit of 'burning' everything in the dryer.🤪And won't let me do the laundry.
What do you think?
