Why Do We Procrastinate, Really?
I’ve noticed throughout many conversations that people think procrastination is a mindset issue.
“If you loved what you did, you’d always want to do it bro, you’re just being soft.”
While there’s some truth to that school of thought, I’ve realized there are many different reasons for procrastination.
In this post, I’m breaking down the three most common reasons for procrastination so you know exactly what to do when it hits.
Let’s get into it:
  1. Mindset issue
I already brought this one up, so might as well dive deeper.
Sometimes you are genuinely being lazy.
You’re in the perfect setup with more than enough energy…
Yet you’re still not executing.
This is highly problematic… but it’s also rare.
If you had a mindset issue, you probably wouldn’t be trying to make money online.
I’ve been through this a few times, and thinking through it really helps out.
I ask myself, “Is helping people and achieving financial freedom something I really want to do?”
“Well, yeah, of course.”
“So why am I not working on it?”
“Ohhh yeah, good point I’m gonna get working now.”
OR
2. Energy issue “I’m too tired”
This can happen for a lot of reasons.
You could have just done a punishing workout or been sleeping badly for the last few days.
Regardless, getting tired happens to the best of us, so here are a couple of ways out of it.
Caffeine is my go-to, but you shouldn’t be having it past 2 pm.
So if it’s past 2, I’ll have a spoonful or two of honey (which, by the way, is a superfood. You can’t go wrong with it).
3. You just don’t want to work.
My favorite one to address.
Sometimes, procrastination is our body giving us a signal…
“It’s not time to work yet.”
The best way to handle it…
Listen to it.
When I didn’t pay attention to my productivity, I used to hear that from myself a lot.
When I found my best hours to work, that objection completely disappeared.
So find those best hours of yours and you’ll be fine.
Since you read this far, I"ll put you on crazy game.
Everything I said works, but nothing works like THE MAGIC METHOD.
I’m gonna break it down in steps:
Step 1) Realize you’re procrastinating and take into account why you are (usually one of the three reasons I went over)
Step 2) Take out your phone, open Voice Notes
Step 3) Record a voice note of you saying why you’re not working right now.
Step 4) Listen to that voice note yourself
When I hear myself talk like that about anything, I think, “Woah, I am being REALLY soft right now. I gotta get it together.”
After that, I get to work.
But just in case that doesn’t do it for you…
Step 5) Send that voice note to all your friends (so they can see how soft you are and engage in good-natured harassment, cause at that point, you deserve it)
