The Secret to Speaking So People Feel Like Buying
Most entrepreneurs struggle with one big problem: They know their product can change lives… but when they talk about it, no one buys.
They follow the script. They check Stripe. Crickets.
The issue? You’re over-teaching and under-connecting.
At Funnel Hacking Live 10, Eileen Wilder revealed the exact storytelling framework that makes people feel like buying…without feeling "salesy" or forcing it.
If you master this, you’ll never be broke again.
What I Learned: The BITS Framework
The #1 mistake amateurs make when selling?
➡️ They overload their audience with information.
Facts alone don’t sell. People buy with emotion first and justify with logic later.
The best speakers don’t just teach…they tell stories that make people feel something.
That’s why Eileen developed BITS: The Belief & Identity Transformation System - a simple framework to turn any message into a high-converting presentation.
Here’s how it works:
The 5-Part Framework to Make Your Speaking Addictive
Step 1: “I” → Stop Talking About Yourself
  • Most people start their stories with “I was broke… I was struggling…”
  • Great speakers flip the script.
  • Instead of “I was stuck,” say “Have you ever felt trapped, frustrated, or unsure of what to do next?”
  • Why? Because when you use “YOU,” the audience sees themselves in the story.
Step 2: “You” → Make the Audience the Hero
  • Move from your story to their reality.
  • Example: Instead of saying, “I struggled to build a funnel”, ask: “Have you ever tried to build a funnel, only to feel overwhelmed by all the tech and moving pieces?”
  • This makes your story personal to them.
Step 3: The Point → Weave the Lesson into the Story
  • Most speakers say: “You need a funnel.”
  • But audiences resist being told what to do.
  • Instead, weave the point into a natural story.
  • Example: “I heard Russell say funnels were confusing, but when I started using stories, everything changed.”
Step 4: The Tribe → Create an Enemy
  • Give your audience a common enemy to rally against.
  • Example: “The real enemy isn’t your lack of knowledge—it’s procrastination.”
  • People love to unite against a shared struggle.
Step 5: The Soundbite → Make It Stick
  • The best speakers use memorable, repeatable lines.
  • Examples: W. Clement Stone: “Do it now.” - Napoleon Hill: “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” - Eileen’s Soundbite: “Procrastination is the assassination of your destination.”
  • Pro tip: Use rhymezone.com to craft your own soundbite!
The Master Key to Sales: Transference of Energy
The words you use only account for 7% of communication.
93% is non-verbal.
That means you can say the right words and still lose the sale… if your energy is weak.
Command Energy = Confident Leadership Energy.Needy Energy = Desperate & Uncertain.
Your energy convinces people before your words do.
How I’m Putting This Into Practice:
I plan on refining how I communicate in my content, my offers, and my presentations.
✔️ Less "teaching," more storytelling.
✔️ Focusing on how my audience feels instead of just what I say.
✔️ Looking for soundbites that make my message stick.
The next time I create content or make an offer, I’m asking: "Am I making them feel like buying?" If not, I’m rewriting it.
Your Turn!
