From $0 to $13K MRR In 8 Months...what I did (Step-by-Step)

I’ve grown my paid community from $0 to $13k MRR over the past 8 months.

On top of that we also generate anywhere from $15k to $20k in high ticket sales each month as well.

If your community isn’t making money, take 2 minutes to read this post where I’m going to share the exact strategies we’re using to make that happen.

To do this, we used a 2 community model.

1️⃣ Community #1 is a free community that serves as a funnel. (the BEST funnel I have ever had in over 14 years as an entrepreneur.)

The goal of this community is to help coaches, course creators, and agencies launch their own online community funnel and get their first 100 members.

It’s the first step in the process of building a profitable business leveraging communities.

After this goal is accomplished a whole new set of problems is created along with the demand and desire to solve those problems.

How do I attract people to my community?

How do I grow the community?

How do I monetize my community?

How do I retain members?

2️⃣Community #2 is our paid community where these problems get solved through my proven roadmap I’ve used to do this, the on-demand training, coaching calls, proven systems to accelerate their results.

We drive traffic into the free community using these 3 core channels:

✅Facebook organic

✅Long-Form YouTube videos

✅Meta ads (<$1k/month budget)

To attract people to join our community, we’re promoting lead magnets that we know our audience ACTUALLY WANTS across each of these traffic channels using content formats that work best for each channel.

Our top lead magnets are:

We place CTAs strategically in our content to join our free community to get instant access to these assets.

Most community builders think that once they get people into their free community, the hard part is over...

But in reality, this is where the REAL work begins.

Because if you can't convert those free members into paying customers, you're just running a charity.

I’ve developed several system to consistently convert free members into paid members and high-tick clients month after month.

Here's exactly what we do:

🚀 Onboarding calls: When someone joins our free community we have 5 mechanisms both inside the community and external, that drive new members to book a "Community Launch Call" where we provide massive value upfront.

This isn't a sales call (though it can easily transition to one).

This strategy alone has been booking us on average 90 calls/month. 🤯

🚀 Value-driven DMs: We follow-up with members we’ve had good calls with through direct messages to continue to provide value and showing we care.

This builds trust FAST and positions us as the go-to expert, and when the right offer comes along, they’re way more likely to purchase.

🚀 Monthly Conversion Events: Each month we run specific “campaigns” meant to convert free members into paid members.

This is a series of coordinated content to promote an irresistible offer to join our paid community.

These conversion events can come in the form of a series of posts and emails, webinars, or workshops.

We like to switch it up to keep things fresh.

This is the exact strategy I used to:

🤑 Generate $10k in 3 days for Black Friday (we sold out Wednesday before)

🤑 Win 1st place in the Skool Games in December for affiliates

I share full breakdowns of these campaigns inside our paid community including the step-by-step process to implement, results we acheived and the exact content I used so that our members can model exactly what we’re doing.

It may sound simple, but this is the EXACT process we’ve used to generate over $200k in the past 8 months from our paid community and high ticket sales.

And here's the BEST part...

When done correctly, this doesn't feel like "selling" at all.

It feels like you're genuinely helping people get to their next level.

I kid you not, we had someone message us saying: "I was WAITING for you to offer me something I could pay for!"
