I had the pleasure of connecting with @Micah Walker today! โฅ๏ธ Here's my biggest takeaway from the call: Iโve been stuck in a really painful loop: I'm all-in on building my dream business, but the financial pressure to make it work right now is intense. I felt like getting an interim job meant I was "failing" or giving up on the dream. My biggest takeaway from Micah is this: You can't build a sustainable business from a place of desperation. She pointed out that it's almost impossible to "detach from the outcome" when your survival brain is screaming about paying the bills. People can feel that desperate energy. And even worse, if you force your passion to be your only lifeline, it will quickly turn into the very thing you resent. The reframe that changed everything for me was so counterintuitive: The people who often succeed the most are the ones who don't need the business to work right now. Getting a job isn't failing the mission. Itโs a powerful, strategic move to protect your passion. It creates the stability to show up from a place of service, fun, and true alignment, not from a place of "I need to make a sale or I can't pay my bills." I'm feeling so much lighter and more hopeful. It's the permission I needed to build this thing sustainably, not desperately. Has anyone else felt that conflict between your passion and the pressure to make it "work"?
