Bought an SM57 the other day to level up the recording quality of my acoustic guitar. The Scarlett / Focusrite condenser mic has way more background noise than the SM57. So i might replace it in the future. What do you think? Have a great weekend :)

It's a hybrid with a SS preamp. But it's a 50 watt Peavy Classic VT 2x12 from the 80s. It's not much but I think as in th market for a deal and I didn't think I would find anything better than this. The funniest thing about this is that it has no volume knobs. Just gain. 1 for each channel and a master gain knob. Of course these double as the volume knobs, but the fact that they chose to prioritize calling them gain knobs over volume knobs is hilarious. And it leads me to the obvious downside which is that it is naturally very fuzzy. Maybe it's the tubes but I think this is just a gain machine. Crazy that it was at Guitar Center. This is the second time I've actually found a better deal there than any of the marketplace or CL pages.

Tone is really important for having your guitar sound great 🎸 You can get great tone by having a great guitar with the right setup, knowing how to play well, and using digital or real-life amps and pedals. I've recently pulled out an old effects pedal board I used years ago for a few shows. I was curious if it still worked, as some vacuum tube pedals require tube replacements 💡 Surprisingly, it still sounds good and works as it used to. The audio quality isn't great, as I recorded the video spontaneously (i used the mic on the DSLR cam i use).
