Listening party 🎶
In a little more than 1 week from today we'll have a listening party here on Skool (Sunday, January 18th @ 6pm - 7pm CET). We'll hang out, introduce each other to new music and have a discussion afterwards. Will you be there? 🥳

Metronome Timing
@Christian Lie my apologies for being late. Here is the metronome timing lesson. I started out really good and every time I pushed record it was like I was using somebody else’s hand. I was getting frustrated so I had to stop.

Very good Darren. It's not easy if you're not used to practicing with a metronome. But with time you'll develop a solid groove. Keep at it! 🎸
Happy New Years - Progress
Hey All, I’ve been away for quite some time due and have not been able to pick up the guitar. I’ve recently been able to pick it up and work on my fundamentals in scales, techniques, etc.. that I’ve been able to apply it in a real music scene… sorta. Here’s a cool little clip jamming in the key of D. I looped a chord picking pattern from a Dmaj7 to A. While using the D Major pentatonic shape on the bass! With my buddy on the drums. Will have to attempt some sort of guitar lead/solo in the future when revisiting this. Definitely can use this as motivation to be able to write my own songs someday! Happy New Year!

@Jaime Ayala How cool. Do you know which DAW / recording software you'll use?

@Jaime Ayala Garageband is solid. I started out with that as well. At some point i went over to Ableton. It's not free, but not very pricey either if you take the light package. I'd say both GarageBand and Ableton are great for beginners. Once you've learned the basics, they're both easy to use.
What did you get for Christmas? (Show & Tell) 🎁
I'm a big fan of reading. I literally can't fall asleep unless i pick up a book right before bed time. So i was super happy and grateful when i got these books from my parents. I've always wanted to read more stories from the LOTR universe. So here we go! ⚔️ How about you? Did Santa bring something nice this year? 🎅

@Jake Galambos How nice. I can imagine you'll fill it up fast :)

@Andy Quan Thanks. I use them first of all as sleeping aid lol. I found out that i stop overthinking at night if i have a book in my hand. Don't know why, but it works. And yes i do write. Mostly journaling on my guitar practice these days. Keeping track of where i'm at. And yes, that does oddly looks like a coffee machine. Perhaps that's the next shark tank idea. Suck up the dirt while grounding your coffee beans. "Double your productivity!" 😅🫘
