Reflection - community and words.
Assalamu alaikum my dear sisters (my brain is still not fully used to refering to women as 'sisters' but i love that i get to do that)!
Something came up for me that I feel compelled to share here because I feel like a lot of us could relate to it. How often in your life have you felt like, eh, i thought the thought but who wants to hear my idea/ feeling/ experience. i'll just listen to what they are saying and get on with my day. or.. im just a number in this big community. or.. my opinions are not that valuable. or my experience is so lame. etc.
In so many cultures we are taught something to the effect of 'women should be seen not heard.'
and it got me thinking- they ONLY power shaytan has is his waswas. words. just words. like he's so weak. but WE KNOW how powerful those waswas can be. that's the power of words ladies!! 🤯 YOURS included! so if you ever feel like there is no point in saying the thing- SAY the thing. You never know who needs to hear it! the uplifting comment, the solidarity, the 'i relate so much'. whatever it is.
i love the welcoming safe sisterhood we have here under the wings of the MM team for that very reason ❤️
Something you say or share may hit home for another sister, and something someone says may do the same for you. it may not feel like a lot to you, but it may mean A LOT to someone else.
I hope you are all having a blessed Jummah whever you are. lets fill our hears, and minds and hearts with positive words and thoughts, and the rememberance of Allah swt. (also why dikr is so powerful!!). Peace and blessings on our beloved prophet Mohammed SAW on this blessed day, and every day. 🥰
