December 4 Final Full moon of 2025.
Hi I was hoping for a clear view of this moon but it’s a cold cloudy rainy day. So not sure if she can shine for me tonight. Peak time is about 2 hours from the time I am writing this. Full moon is time to release things that no longer serve us and acknowledge completion of tasks. Peak time of New Moon in my area is on December 19 at 7:43 pm- new moon is time to start things and set new intentions- planning to launch Ms Sandy’s Sewing Circle at that time. Yule begins on 12-21-2025- the longest night of the year. Watch out for ideas to celebrate Yule- pagan tradition that began long before Christianity adopted many of the practices. Sending you blessings on this Cold Moon . What are you letting go of- what have you completed that deserves celebration.? 🤍 Sandy

December 4 Final Full moon of 2025.
Tuesday
I’m on back up call today which means I have to be on the ready if the inpatient hospice unit where I work becomes busier than the nursing staff scheduled today can manage safely. So I’m chilling at home working on content for this community. I didn’t get everything I wanted to do completed this past few days off because my arthritis pain was acting up big time and my eyes were so blurry I had difficulty reading and posting. I have some type of autoimmune conditions that flares up with inflammation and causes my eyes to be very dry and hurt and roaming joint pain. Often I can go with little to no pain in my knees and hips but last night I could barely climb the stairs to where the laundry is located in our house. Today I get weather update that a severe storm system will be moving though this afternoon- the Knees knew first. I’m slowly adding content that is free to all members. I’m hoping to build a very special community of like minded people who value each others skill and work and appreciate each others individuality and differences. I would love the group to be a place where we can sip our coffee or tea and enjoy each other’s company. I don’t claim to be an expert- my quilts will never be in the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky. But if my great great grandchild is kept warm by it when my arms can hold them- then it is a priceless quilt. Much Love, Sandy 💕

Quilt Alliance Event 12-3-2025
The Quilt Alliance is hosting two special Zoom events on December 3 in celebration of seven-time Tony Award-winning actor and playwright (and quilter!) Harvey Fierstein, and you’re invited! First, at 2 pm EST: The Quilt Alliance welcomes Harvey Fierstein to Textile Talks. Harvey will be interviewed for the QSOS oral history project by artist Zak Foster. Free registration here. Then, at 4 pm EST: Join us for the after-party: a Spotlight Fundraiser featuring Harvey Fierstein. Artists Zak Foster, Steven Skybell, Liza Prior Lucy, and Michael Michalski will join Harvey and QA director Amy Milne for a fun conversation about quilting, Broadway, and common threads. You’ll have a chance to ask questions, win door prizes, and your $25 donation will benefit the Quilt Alliance, a nonprofit dedicated to documenting, preserving, and sharing the important history of quilts and their makers. Get your tickets here. https://quiltalliance.org/spotlight/?utm_source=Craft+Industry+Alliance&utm_campaign=29441851d4-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2025_11_18_04_05&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_-29441851d4-129551080

Hello and invitation
Sewing is often considered a "disappearing art" because its necessity has declined with the rise of cheap, mass-produced clothing, and it's no longer as commonly taught in schools. Home economics and sewing classes, which were once a staple in schools, have largely disappeared, reducing exposure for younger generations. Spend time with me as I share skills i began loving when i was 7 years old-Almost 60 years of sewing experience. Doll and doll clothes, small patchwork and quilting projects are projects I will be making this winter. Planning on making a spirit doll and a stress doll. I am a 65 year old Mother of two amazing adult children and Nana to four of the most beautiful grandchildren. I am a 20 year plus career hospice and palliative care Registered Nurse in home and inpatient level hospice care. With two decades of dealing with conversations about life and death - helping patients and families through possibly the worst season of their lives, her best traits are listening, empathy and understanding-joy in hearing a person’s story. Pull up a chair close to me, let’s have a conversation and let's learn together.- the circle is a safe space for all. Personal growth and spiritual development topics are welcome. Politics and religion topics are not welcome. This is a kind and gentle space where everyone’s work is accepted and appreciated. Rudeness will not be tolerated. Empathy is to be encouraged and developed. Thank you. 💙 -Ms. Sandy
