VERY INTERESTING! Copy data TO Amazon S3
Microsoft released a new feature today that I thought was a really interesting move.
Read more about it here: >> Copy data to Amazon S3 <<
Now the feature is it not very exciting, but what I find fascinating is the strategy behind releasing a feature like this.
I bet they discussed this a lot before releasing.
At first, I thought: hmm writing data to Amazon S3, surely that's not someting that Microsoft want to promote/ allow/ make easy?
But then the more I thought about it, the more I thought... actually it does make sense (strategically) for Microsoft.
If they (Microsoft) can entice companies with most their infrastructure in AWS to build a two-way bridge to Fabric, it's likely they will build more infrastructure in Fabric.
And the more time the customer spends building stuff in Fabric, the more inclined they might be to fully migrate one day.
What you do think about this feature? Am I overthinking it?? ๐Ÿคฃ I do nerd out sometimes about the strategy behind certain features
