I just started watching videos on youtube. I have a note: Will´s video (Microsoft Fabric: Data Warehouse vs Lakehouse vs KQL Database) is good 😉 but... This video beautifully describes the basic framework of data team roles. I found a video by Baara that explains more broadly how different roles work within the Fabric ecosystem and what they focus on. It may already be somewhere on Will's YouTube channel, but I wanted to share it here – it genuinely expanded my perspective on my career path.

I’ve been pretty quiet the past couple of months because I’ve been deep in Python, AI engineering skills, while staying steady with Fabric. I’m grateful to share that I’ve accepted the Senior AI Engineering role at my institution — something I’ve been working toward relentlessly since January. Thanks to everyone who shares their work here; it’s been a huge part of how I’ve kept moving.

Am I missing something with deployment pipelines? They seem to work with very few objects in Fabric. I am developing a Fabric environment with a Lakehouse, Warehouse, Copy Jobs, Pipelines, mirrored databases, etc. and when I try to promote from my dev to test (and prod) workspaces I end up having to manually recreate everything. Very few things actually deploy nicely. Other than the built in "comparison" screen, which is nice, it seems like a waste of time.

Hi Will/ all! So I (thankfully) managed to pass both key Fabric exams today having gone through every single exam related MSLearn training path, both of your (Will) prep videos, and a huge bunch of other resources including lots of hands on practice. With both exams I was particularly surprised how little time you actually have for each and need to get through a huge number of questions (approx 52) and case study questions (approx 1 case study 5-10 questions depending on exam), but thankfully you'd warned about this in your final tips video. I didn't even get time to review any marked questions and didn't even get time to look up anything in MSlearn, so ended up having to take a leap of faith hitting End Exam on both occasions before timer ran out. Thanks for the community you run Will, and for me this is really just the beginning of my Fabric enlightenment and will now be focusing most of my energies on hands on activities/ practical, so am likely to check out your Dojo over December 🎎🍣👨‍🎓 Good luck to everyone who have yet to sit exams.
