What is 'cool' or smart way to say/not say you live off your investments?
Western Europe. Had 2 jobs - one self employed giving theatre seminars (earning around 8k per year), one employed 2x 6 hours per week (earning around 7k per year). Lived super-frugal, invested for 11 years, networth reached over 2mill, then i quit my employed job.
Right now it's kind of 'what do you do?' - 'i give theatre seminars' - 'do you live off that?' - 'no, i had 2 jobs, was very frugal and saving, then i had luck investing and i was thinking what to buy, and i decided to buy time and quit the employed job'.
Depending on how i tell it i think women either think i am rich (slight security concerns telling that everybody, my current lifestyle does give no pointers at all that i have money), or she will think i am a dreamer that just doesn't care being poor and getting even poorer.
Perhaps 'i was frugal and i invested, now i wouldn't need to work anymore, but i still enjoy doing the theatre seminars'.
Perhaps i could say i am an 'investor', i am watching 1h investment youtube every day while doing chores and am writing in telegram groups, but basically i just buy and hold. 'Trader' sounds terrible and is also not the truth.
