Tickets for charity event: Funnel or crutch?
I'm a recent member of my local chapter of the Lions Club, an internationally run charity organisation with community focus. They're organising a ticketed event in a couple of weeks that even members attending need to pay for (no freebies).
I think I mentioned a few weeks ago that one of the ladies at my local hairdresser offered to help me with pre-selection photos by getting some of her colleagues together. I mentioned the event to her and said I'd cover the ticket fee (a little over AU$50; I figured I can cover up to six plus myself).
One thing I'm wondering, though: where is this on the funnel-to-crutch spectrum of using money to aid connection?
