This is your brain on pot, and THIS is your brain on GPT…
When I was in 3rd grade, I questioned why I could not use a calculator to do basic arithmetic.
My teachers told me calculators are for people doing high level mathematics that need to reduce their work load to focus their brains on the complex parts of the more complicated math problems…
I have been using chat gpt since it first came out many years ago, I was building an AI sales bot using light speed as the interactive shell to customize supplement regimens and work out plans for consumers along with general life advice for optimizing their performance for those using my products… because I was not selling supplements that got people off meth and replaced steroids, I was selling cognitive and physical life improvements…
Today most people are using chat gpt in the same way I wanted to use a graphing calculator to do arithmetic in 3rd grade… as a replacement for using your brain…
You see copy writing and adds becoming more and more “salesy” and less authentic.
Perfectly written sentences devoid of insight and intellectual depth…
You see people writing blog posts that look like google search results blasted into well written strings of soulless words…
When I use AI for writing (not this article) I write my entire article FIRST, structure my essays with tact and direction. Plus a little flare…
THEN I use AI to do SPECIFIC tasks with my original writing…
I ask AI to not change the sentiment of what I wrote, but reduce the FK score (readability) to a 4th grade level, to increase scan ability and focus on drawing attention to key aspects of my essay… I Ask it to write its own version researching the topics I talk about citing references to I can gain further insight into topics I’ve already researched…
I also ask it to write in specific voices for specific audiences based on Reddit threads and IG comments from specific psychographics and THEN I will read to output, and tweak it where I feel it went too far with dumbing it down or making jokes I find inappropriate or offense…
Like Frankenstein, but with werdz not dead people…
I learn to write BETTER every time I use AI to IMPROVE my writing…
Not to do my writing… or my thinking… 😚💨
I don’t sit on my ass and ask the gpt monster to do all the thinking and writing for me while I smoke pot and eat potato chips like most people seem to do with AI…
Most people would argue that chat gpt is making people more productive and smarter, but my 3rd grade teacher could have told you how wrong they are to not develop the base skills and rely on computers to replace their brains…
I’m fact, my calculus teacher in high school who was a nasa math magician would have smacked me with a ruler (again) and make me calculate trajectories on his chalk board with a protractor and compass within 0.00005% accuracy as if someone’s wife was going to become widowed and children would become orphans if I got it wrong just to beat the GPT out of me if he was still alive today and saw me smoking on GPT… doesn’t matter if I can be MOSTLY accurate if I come to class stoned, if I was going to use math in real life (IRL if that’s TLDR for you) I had to not rely on graphing calculators to plot trajectories and account for gravity and wind resistance and spin of the earth to determine the optimal course of reentry for a ball of steel with someone’s daddy inside…
Fun fact, Mr. Swartzberg was a fucking G and would get calls from NASA and erase the whole board at any moment if there was an emergency somewhere in space and they had to call all the brains to 100x check their math… NO he would not rewrite anything if you weren’t paying attention because you were texts chicks while he was teaching…
Well my fellow hyper nerds (IQ north of 140) that chose to go the academic route in life have just competed a study on what my third grade teacher would have told you about the GPT monster…
Nearly a 50% reduction in cognitive capabilities in avid gpt users compared to those that “just said NO” to AI…
So before you think your little friend is going to replace your need to use your brain, I’d think again… or for the first time in some people’s case…
