Mating display
Listening to Michael's tutorials in the classroom, I had an epiphany. Our Instagram is our mating display. By this, I mean we are animals pursuing mates, and nearly all animals have a mating display to show off fitness.
We can look at peacocks, or bucks fighting, or some other strange looking courtship behavior, and to us it looks strange. But to the females, it is biologically wired into them to respond.
It seems foreign to us to see it this way, because we can't easily put ourselves into women's minds. But we don't have to. We have to look at one thing. Does it work? That's the only thing that needs to be known.
