How to Book a Mentor Check-in
If any of you are having trouble booking check-ins, or are new to Mastering.com Membership, we've put together a new document that walks through the process of booking a session. (Standard and Premier Members can upgrade to VIP at https://skool.com/mastering/plans to receive Check-ins and access to other benefits) As a VIP member, you can book one Check-in session per calendar month for one on one mentoring. The sessions are in 15 minute increments and are for asking questions or reviewing tracks you are working on, both assignments from the curriculum and personal music. These sessions are open to members to join and view to learn from watching the mentor sessions. Please read this doc carefully for full instructions: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TWVySVsg6QyOED7G9CVf8HtwAxDWHRSzy5ggTMwm0wU/edit?tab=t.0 Hope to see lots of you on calls soon.
Kick vs Sub Bass volumes/ratio (Foundation)
Hello, Is there a common ratio/volume balance for Kick + Sub bass in EDM/EBM/Rock genre? So let's say, if my kick is hitting at -6dbs, should the sub bass (not the main bass layer) be hitting at that same level, louder, or lower? So far I have been putting up the sub bass volume by ear, but find it hard to know when it is right. Everything sounds good to me :-)
very nice Sample Browser on sale
Sales on Sample browsers appear not to happen too often, so ...here's one: The resonic browser is having a sale this month that makes it about fifty bucks (regular price is eighty-something), which is pretty inline with the alternatives I'm aware of. What makes this one special is its focus on being the fastest sound player and browser for windows around, and all of its meta-data-driven search, copy, manage related features and shortcuts. It will play all your things whether you want the sound out of a movie, or a quick sampling of some midi (or just about any tracker) files, or the listing of a huge pile of wav files scattered across a folder structure that you just don't have time for. And hey, the pro one has that sexy dark theme, you know you want it. Well, I fell for it anyways, lol. No regrets here; I use it in combination with Cosmos, since the two have radically different approaches, I find the pairing perfect. But maybe that's just me. Check out the free one or sign up for a pro trial... I think you'll like it. It really is the only player aimed at audio professionals. Also.. a new version will be coming out soon... idk if that will come with a price increase but I do know any license you get now will still apply. If you wanna use the free one, what I did before getting the pro version was to use it in combination with voidtools 'everything' ; the search windows always needed but never had. So, that's https://resonic.at and https://www.voidtools.com cheers
