Moxa's recommendation of LME classes for Chinese
今天,有一位中国同学来咨询我LME课程的选择,我们愉快地聊了1个小时左右,但我突然想到,以前也有同学咨询过几次,干脆我写一个帖子给大家参考。主要给中国同学,所以我中文写在前面,英文写在后面。 Today, a Chinese classmate came to me for class recommendation of LME. We talked about one hour happily, but after that I realized this happened several times before, why don't I make a post here? It's mainly for Chinese students, so Chinese first, English later. 我是一名正宗的中国学生,也就是花了十几年在学校学英语,成绩很好看,但是听和说都很差。如果你跟我类似,并且在某些地方看到过我分享(炫耀)我的变化,不妨了解一下。 I'm a real Chinese student, which means I spent over ten years on English since middle school, performing well academically, poor in listening and speaking. If you are like this, and once saw me sharing or even showing off my progress, here is my recommendation. 1.训练营。性价比高,CS亲自上直播课,听和说轮流上,搭配答疑课和练习课,还有口语作业让你练习输出。唯一的缺点就是上麦的同学相对比较多,但是可以用好AMA课来补足,强推! The first one, English Camp. It's totally worth it! CS teaches us through live class once a week, listening and speaking classes are arranged alternatively, has AMA class and practice class, even challenges for you to practice your spoken English. The only thing is, we often have a relatively long line to practice in live class, but that would totally be fine if you take good use of AMA classes in our community! The second one, 8-week program, where I began to rocket! It's consisted of 8 PIRF, all well selected to hit our weak parts. It's like a game, you are the player to control the pace. For each PIRF, you: (1)get the assignment, a passage or so, need to practice 3 times a day for 3 or 4 days, then send your recording to the mailbox. Soon you will receive the VIDEO feedback from coaches(not CS himself but all super good coaches) to point out your problems and teach you how to speak correctly.

Good News Challenges
Recently in our AE class, Coach Richard showed us a video of good news and asked us to comment on it. It's difficult for me, but also something I need right now: 1. It's about good things, you can always cheer yourself up; 2. It involves some critical thinking and structure, which I should work on; 3. I really lack some general knowledge about the world, it's a good way to know something. So, I wrote down 55 of them, and try to do 3 or 4 times a week, to get stronger, more fluent and confident with my English. Hope it's okay to share here😄.
I wanna nudge you
Method for Enhancing Active Vocabulary by Andrzej Zielinski 1. pick the word that you want to make usable (preferably you feel some kind of likeness to it) - it can be a phrase, too 2. Look carefully how to say it, first slowly then quickly then at your normal speed - you gotta feel comfortable with it - no strain. 3. Get the meaning - do not translate, see the situation where you spot it 4.find two synonyms to your target vocab, one that you use and the other that you do not use. 5. Think about your real-life situation where you could use the target vocabulary (as well as the synonyms) and speak about that situation in English using all three vocabulary items. I especially want to highlight that point - you got to strap that word with the situation that you always remember, being it emotional, embarrassing, successful or whatever. The point is you remember it forever together with the strapped vocab! 6. Create a notebook divided into two columns. In one column write down the situation in the shortest possible way - only words that help you recall it- and a exemplary sentence with the two synonyms - without the target vocabulary. In the other column write only the target vocabulary and cover it so that you can't see it while reviewing. And that's it. 7. After some time look at your situation and see if the vocab keeps coming to you. @Andrzej Zieliński
