"The Silent 'S': It’s not what you think!" ANSWER 🧐
In rail transport, a whistle post or whistle board, is a sign marking a location where a train driver is required to sound the horn or whistle. BUT IT IS ONLY OLD SIGN
W means « whistle » In the USA is it true ?
S means « sifflez » ( whistle in French)
You can’t see the railway line in my photo (marked with an S) because the tracks were removed for over 100 km to create a cycle path! However, some railway signs have been preserved as a reminder of its history. It is now a safe and pleasant route, ideal for cycling, walking, or rollerblading along the path of the former railway
What about old railway signs in your country ?
