Hey everyone!
We're meeting again this Friday! Our weekly meetup is the perfect time to connect, NAVIgate the course and stay on track.
Here's what's coming up:
🌟 Welcome to our new members!
, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , -- and anyone else I missed -- don't be shy! This is a great place to meet English-speaking friends. Just drop by, even if it's just for a few minutes. Getting started is super simple: “Hi! I'm Emi, and I'm from China. I'm a new member, and I enjoy speaking English.”
That's all it takes! We've all been there, and we're here to help.
🤪 Drop the jaw
Same human parts -- lips, tongue, throat -- but every language sounds so unique!
Take English, for example... I've got lips and a tongue too, but somehow Coach Shane's English sounds way better. How do I get those sounds to come out just like his?
The answer: Pull yourself up by the ears -- literally! Listen carefully and try to repeat. Just like a musician uses their ears to tune their guitar, you can use your ears to tune your English.
Let's share:
- What English sounds are (or were) the hardest for you?
- How did you learn to say them? Show us!
- What sounds in your native language are really hard for non-native speakers?
- Imagine foreigners hearing your language -- what do you think they hear? I can try to perform it if you will! 🎤
And remember:
💡 Your English level doesn't matter here.
💡 Don't stress if you forget a word -- gestures, smiles, mixing things up… it all works!
💡 English isn't an art to master; it's a tool to connect.
💡 The more we practice, the easier it gets.
