I shut down my entire OpenClaw setup.
In under a day.
After running it 24/7 for weeks.
And no… this wasn’t planned.
I had 35+ automations running:
• morning briefings
• competitor tracking
• content workflows
• internal ops
Everything was running smoothly.
Until it wasn’t.
ClawHub got hit.
1,000+ malicious skills.
Credential theft. Backdoors.
That was enough for me.
Game over.
I wasn’t going to sit there and “hope” nothing happens.
So I switched.
Fast.
What I did (no overcomplication)
• Took a Mac Mini → updated Claude Code (with Channels)
• Installed iMessage channel (took 5 mins, not the mess I expected)
• Set a sender allowlist → only approved numbers can trigger anything
• Updated CLAUDE.md → all my workflows carried over (no rebuild) • Enabled permission relay → nothing sensitive runs without approval
• Tested via phone → working in under 30 seconds
• Set cron + shortcuts → automations still running in the background
What changed
• same workflows
• better execution
• way more control
• actual security
Biggest difference?
Before:
AI just runs.
After:
AI asks.
Now when something sensitive happens:
I get a message → approve → done
No guessing. No risk.
And here’s the crazy part…
After months of building on OpenClaw,
I replaced the entire setup in less than a day.
Honest take
Most people are building crazy AI systems…
On platforms they don’t fully trust.
That’s a bad place to be.
If your setup breaks…
or worse, gets compromised…
everything goes with it.
Fix that before you scale anything.

Are you fully confident in your current AI setup…
or just hoping nothing goes wrong?
