Loving D3 Football
Richie Murphy is a D3 D-back who plays for UW-Stout (Menomonie, WI) in the WIAC. He's also a YouTuber and has amassed a pretty good following, as well as some serious swag from brands and advertisers. He's been a good ambassador for D3 sports.
I don't know Richie, but he speaks the truth and from his heart. "He ain't wrong."
You may know that I was the product of D3 football (and baseball) and loved it at UW-River Falls many years ago. D3 players are typically a step slower, an inch or two shorter and a few pounds lighter than there D1 counterparts.. but the competition is fierce and you might be surprised at how good the play is.
Anyone who has a decent high school career should contemplate playing in college. It's pretty neat to continue to suit up and play in front of a crowd for another 4 years... and for a select few, a trip to the NFL, too.
My advice for ALL division levels... "Play because you love it."
