Most of the books I’ve published also have an audiobook version.
Why?Because most people don’t sit down to read anymore—they listen while driving, walking, cleaning, or working.
Here’s something that surprised me:👉 The majority of my book income comes from audiobooks, even though the royalties per sale are technically lower.
What I’ve learned:
- Audiobooks scale differently
- Every dollar I spend promoting my paperback or ebook also boosts audiobook sales
- Audio buyers are a completely different type of consumer
- Many self-published authors skip this format entirely
That means less competition… and more opportunity.
If you don’t have an audiobook yet, I’m curious 👇What’s holding you back?
- Cost
- Tech setup
- Not sure your book would work in audio
- Didn’t even consider it yet
Drop it in the comments—chances are someone else here has the same question.
