Verbally and physically assaulted!

I’m writing this so hopefully this doesn’t happen to anyone Else, Sundays game I had an altercation with a parent of my own team, how it came about was that his wife used to be 1 of the coaches her son also plays for us but she gave up the position and I took over, but on Sunday she was trying to undermine myself and the Head-coach by standing beside us and starting shouting at the boys and they were confused as to what was happening she also started shouting at one boy pointing the finger at him, to which I asked what was she doing and she replied that he’s not staying in his position and should be staying out on the wing, and I replied there’s no need to be picking him out as this is a learning curve and this is when they learn about mistakes and a gentle reminder is all that needs to be said, so she stated that myself and head coach were to soft, so I politely said that you are no longer a coach for this team or club and you should not be here shouting at the boys, next thing I knew was here husband came over towards myself very aggressively asking why I spoke to her in that way, to which I replied that she had an opinion as I do and she is not the coach anymore, and he replied that my opinion means sfa and then proceeded to grab my top and throw a punch at myself to which I pulled back from, my first instinct was to say stop as there are kids here right where it was happening he still kept on being aggressive so I said I’m away to call the police, so he went away still being aggressive abusive language saying he’s going to smash my face! My eyes were filling up when the boys were asking are you ok coach, So now the police have gotten a statement and also the club they have contacted the league ADJFA so now they have to contact the SFYA to get them both banned from all of our club games, so after any comments I will be taking a short break just to get my head back in the mindset of things as I was totally rocked by this situation still a bit shaky 🧤
