To tape up..?
I thought I'd write something briefly about hand-strapping.
I have two good-level GK's & we've had our fair share of hand injuries so far.
The worst being a fractured finger, that took 6 weeks to heal & we missed a couple of
big games through it.
Correct technique etc, can only go so far - when you have the chance to apply it.
Decent gloves too.
Reflex saves - from close range & where you cant see the ball (too many players in the way - don't you just hate that!) have caused us several pains.
We carry some micro tape & some elasticated bandage tape too.
Heat creams can also help, on a cold day.
One GK trains 4 days per week & one 3 days.
This doesn't include weekend matches & academy fixtures.
If anyone's thinking of trying tape, I'd recommend it.
Just my experience.
