Tight Margins

Preston had a Tournament in Doncaster today. The Group stages went well and we Topped the Group with No Goals conceded. The pitch was bald, dry and very hard but thankfully Preston had two games (12 Mins each) where he never touched the ball at all and two games where he had minimal interaction. The other couple of games included a couple catch's Goal Kicks and one save. Again we Won the quarters without conceding and entered the Semi Finals.

Here is where the day turned. The Semi final was 0:0 after 6 minutes when we found out we were playing the wrong team. How did this happen, You Ask.

As the Game started it was Group A Winners v Group B Runners up. After 5 minutes the Group B Table was changed and meant Group A Winners were playing Group B Winners.

There was not much we could do at that time so the game continued with the Referee's unaware.

Our luck changed and despite playing well and doing all the attacking, a freak dribble in, cross deflected off a striker then a defender before looping past Preston off another striker. There was nothing he could do about it and to be fair possibly never even saw it. It was the only really attempt on goal all day but was enough to knock Preston's team out of the Tournament.

Football can be so cruel at times
