First Mini Film Challenge 2025 ⚡🌱
How to transform the images in your mind into a film? 🎥 The first films I made were simple, experimental, and far from perfect—but they were born out of a pure love for filmmaking. Let’s be honest, though: they were bad. Really bad. 😅 And because they were bad, I pushed myself to make something good. Looking back, that was my first big mistake. 🚧 It made me hit a wall, and for two years, I made nothing because I kept thinking, The next film has to be amazing. That perfectionism trap is brutal. You want to create something incredible, but instead, you end up stuck, doing nothing. 💀 This is where most aspiring films go to die—in procrastination & perfectionism. But I learned a lesson for the next 10+ years of making films: ✨ The best way to grow is to start small. Forget perfection. Make something every week. You’ll learn more than you ever imagined. You’ll discover your style, experiment with editing, and maybe even decide you prefer black and white to color. 💡 Want to practice lighting? Shoot a short film with lighting as your sole focus. 🤔 Stuck on a story? Film your day, but play with angles, composition, or creative lighting. ⚡ It doesn’t need to be perfect—it just needs to exist. The undercover name of this challenge is not “mini film,” but “make a bad film.” Just make it. Äh, do it. 🔧 Do it with the things available to you. When I had no money to pay actors, I cooked a great dinner for them as a thank-you. 🎬 If you want to make BIG CINEMA, start SMALL. Stop aiming for a masterpiece and start creating. 🌱 You’ll be amazed at how much you grow when you let go of the pressure and focus on experimenting. 🚀 So, where will this journey take you?
