Practice 12/24
I’ve recently started binge-watching films again, and I decided to continue with the Harry Potter movie series. I actually just finished the first film yesterday, and I have to say, I still don’t really like it. Watching it again reminded me why I didn’t enjoy it the first time. The film leaves out a lot of details from the book. Some of these details might not seem important to the director, but in the book, they explain why certain things happen and what happens later. When I only watch the film, I find it hard to fully connect with the story. It feels a bit rushed, and I miss the background and the deeper explanations that make the story meaningful. Because of that, I’m honestly not sure if I’ll continue watching the rest of the Harry Potter films, even though I really like the books.
Film- the Fantastic beasts
Recently, I started binge-watching films again, and I watched the Fantastic Beasts series. I honestly can’t stop wondering how J.K. Rowling has so many creative ideas. I also really liked the deeper message of the story. At first, we think the magical beasts are dangerous and frightening. But as the story develops, we realise the real danger isn’t the beasts at all — it’s power. When people gain too much power, it can completely change who they are. The film reminds us that we shouldn’t judge things only by what we see on the surface.
My practice 7
It’s almost the end of the year, and Christmas is just around the corner.A lot of companies are getting ready for their Christmas parties and year-end events. Some people are busy planning party nights with their coworkers. At our temple, we’re doing something a little different. We’re having a DIY handcraft class, and it’s been a really special experience. This month has been busy, but in a good way. There’s a lot going on, and I feel very fulfilled. With all the lights, decorations, and activities, everything feels warm and festive. Even though we’re busy, there’s a strong Christmas vibe everywhere, and it really makes me feel happy and grateful.

Day 2- speak english with class: train your mouth to speak english
https://youtu.be/QAHqzImyr4g?si=0pM5Ak9gG_ti-Tim What I learnt from this podcast is that speaking English isn’t hard because my English is weak. It’s hard because my mouth isn’t trained yet. A lot of English learners train their brain. We watch movies, listen to music, and read in English. But we almost never train our mouth muscles. That’s why our mouth freezes when it’s time to speak. Because speaking English is not only in your head. It’s both mental and muscular. Your brain chooses the words, but your mouth carries them out. If your mouth is untrained, your confidence goes down. The podcast suggests a simple daily workout. Just five minutes a day, like a small English gym at home. Warm-up, mirror practice, shadow speaking, and fluency loops. The key point is confidence. Your brain is the pilot, and your mouth is the airplane. You need to train both, every day

DAY 3|主題:《Discipline is Doing Things When You Don't Want to》
聽力練習挑戰Day3️⃣ 影片:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOfUPZ_fKrc I had no idea what the word "discipline" was. When I saw the short title "Discipline is doing things when you don't want to," I interpreted it as "duty" or "compulsion." However, when Mel explained it with examples and compared it to "habit," I easily caught its meaning. In just a few sentences, she made it clear that discipline means consciously using self-control and willpower to do something even when you don't want to, which is different from a habit. In short, this made me realize that using "examples" is a nice way to describe or explain what I want to say, and I don't need to use any complicated words. I just need to practice expressing myself in simple language so the listener can understand my ideas more easily and clearly.
