I see a lot of great posts on Skool about discipline, consistency, and whether we should take weekends off.
These conversations are so important because success does require work—but I think it’s just as important to talk about HOW we approach that work.
Here’s how I break up my week to stay consistent, keep my momentum, and avoid burnout:
Step 1: Morning Routine
I set the tone & kick things off with a quick routine:
- Take the dog out for a quick pee 🐕
- Stretch to wake up my body
- Plan the day over a cup of tea 🍵
The key? Keep it short—30-45 minutes MAX. My mornings are my sharpest hours, so I dive into focused work ASAP, and try to get the heavy lifting done before 1pm.
Step 2: The Workday - Balance Focus with Flexibility
My workday seems long (~12 hours), but I take breaks, and I get a solid 8-9 hours of real work done.
The perk of not working a 9-5? I can break it up however I want:
- Short breaks to stretch or eat food
- An hour or two at the gym a few days a week 💪
- Taking my dog for his daily walk
When I come back to work, I’m recharged and ready to keep going.
Step 3: Weekends - Keep the Momentum
Unless I’m at something big (like a wedding or event), I’ll always put in a few hours on the weekends. For me, this is discipline: showing up, even just a little, every single day.
Hormozi says something like, “8 hours a day over 7 days beats 12 hours a day over 5.”
Consistency isn’t about perfection—it’s about moving the needle daily.
This structure works for me because it’s flexible, sustainable, and focused on progress over time. It always works for me because I haven't actually hit my goals yet, so I can't be comfortable taking more time off.
What about you? How do you structure your week? Let’s share below—I’d love to hear what works for you! 😊
