What you wish your in-person coach would cover...
So, we're always looking/searching for those little "golden nuggets" to improve our game play experience beyond practices. But have we ever stopped to think about what kinds of things we wish our program coaches actually covered or taught during practice? As a coach myself, I'm so used to looking at and acting upon the "bigger picture" that its easy to overlook some of the smaller details that can be very evident with 1-on-1 or some sort of smaller and more direct instruction. So for the coaches such as myself, what is something each of you wish you had learned before reaching out beyond your program?

Most D-Linemen Don’t Know Their Power Hand 🤚
This is non-negotiable for my 1-gap guys. Inside hand to the sternum. That’s your power hand. You are striking through the man. Not to him.Through him. Your outside hand attacks the bicep. Capture it. Control it. 👇 All while: Eyes stay below the O-lineman’s chin. Feet are running on contact. No stopping. No catching. From there, you peek. Strong base. Like you’re squatting 600 pounds. Arms extended. Still owning the man. Now you find the ball carrier. Now you make the play. But it all starts here. That sternum punch. That violent strike through your visual key. Attack first. Control second. Play third. 👇 A drill I use with my guys to train this 👇 And a live clip of attack, run your feet, and peek done right 🔻 As a D-lineman, what do you use as your power hand? 🔻

Teach it. Drill it. See it work. Each lesson breaks down one technique, shows a drill to train it, and then finishes with a live in game rep to put it all together. This one is built for my visual learners. I’ll be adding new techniques, drills, and live reps consistently, so go check it out and stay tuned. Click Here 👉 Technique → Drill → Film

Passive O-lineman? Stab Him
If the O-lineman isn’t shooting his hands.... That’s a gift. Use the stab hand. This is your weapon vs passive sets. Think of it like this. Press a button. Middle of the chest. Fast. Violent. Direct. Stab. Pull it back immediately. Now react to his punch. You’re not committing. You’re forcing information. That stab freezes him. Makes him show his hands. Then you win. ⬇️ Below, I break down: 👉 How to use the stab hand 👉 A drill to train it 👉 And a live CFL in-game rep from a defensive tackle Simple tool. High-level results. Watch it. Steal it. Use it.
