Coaching decision
I’m curious so I want to throw this scenario out to the group.
Your career goal is to become a Head Men’s basketball coach. You are next in line to become a HS Head Boys coach taking over after the current coach leaves the position. You are learning and developing under the current head coach who stills has about 4 years left of coaching.
During your time the Head coaching position for Women’s Basketball team becomes available at the same school. You have a great relationship with admin, the previous coach and the players who are returning. You are a great candidate for the position.
Do you go for the women’s position?
What will go through your head as you wok through making that decision?
Yes, go for the women’s position
No, stay with the boys program.
