The Real "Cost of Living" Problem (Spoiler - It's Not Money)
I see so many posts in dance studio owner groups at the moment that say: "Numbers are down. Cost of living. People just can't afford it anymore." ๐Ÿ˜ฑ
And I get it. I really do. But here's the thing - I don't fully buy it.
Before you come at me, hear me out.
People Find Money For What They Want
Think about it for a second...
Taylor Swift tickets? Sold out at $300+ a pop. Families are still booking overseas holidays. The PlayStation 5 is sitting under Christmas trees. Parents are happily paying for Netflix, Uber Eats, new iPhones, and $7 coffees every single morning.
The money is there. It's being spent - so if money isn't the real issue, what is?
โฐ Time... that's the cost of living pressure nobody is talking about.
Time Is The New Currency
Your families are busier than they've ever been. Both parents working. Kids juggling school, sport, social commitments. Weekends packed. Everyone is stretched thin - not just financially, but in terms of hours in the day.
And here's where this becomes YOUR problem as a studio owner.
Every single point of friction you add to the process of joining, enrolling, or attending your classes is essentially adding to your customer's "cost." Not their financial cost - their TIME cost.
And time is the one thing they absolutely cannot get more of.
โœ… The Studios That Are Growing Right Now? They're Removing Friction.
What You Can Do This Week... Stop competing on price. Start competing on ease.
Make it so easy to join your studio that the only decision a parent has to make is "yes."
Let me know in the comments what you do to reduce the time friction for people to sign up to your dance classes ๐Ÿ‘‡
