Starting without showing your face: Anyone tried it?

I’m a librarian and photographer. I'm still deciding on a niche, but just the thought of getting in front of the camera gives me a pit in my stomach.

Has anyone started making educational videos without being a “talking head”? Not completely faceless, but just… not front and center.
