I love your teaching style! One question you answered was about products “vs” services needing screening before working with me directly.
My most recent “ex” client wanted to work with me after having worked with someone else in the same field. First red flag. I wondered why she didn’t use that person again.
Red flag #2- She asked me what my rates were. She had a strong reaction and said she was expecting a much lower rate. I told her that even the brand new service providers in the field charge twice what she wanted to pay and you get what you pay for. I should have stuck to my guns, but I went soft, breaking rule #1 for service providers: serve with your heart, do business with your head.
We agreed to terms and I went to work. I sent her my report and invoice. She didn’t like my results and refused to pay anything. I had to write it off.
Had I had a link to an application form on my website, I could have avoided the mistake without emotions. I also plan to use the “Learn More “ video strategy- hares and turtles.
Thank you, Mariah!
