How to build around content and community
Looking at Sam's journey closely from Accelerator to Skool... I have made this 10C format.
The 10Cs of Consultant Growth:
1. Content
2. Community
3. Coaching
4. Consulting
5. Courses
6. Continuity
7. Capital
8. Core Team
9. Code
10. Competency
1. Content: Build content via blogs, newsletters, YouTube videos and books to build your authority. Without content, you will not be discovered.
2. Community: Once the content attracts an audience, you build a community around it. Initially the content creator will be the voice but eventually other people will start participating and adding content to the community.
3. Coaching: Once you have built a community, you need to provide deeper value to the community. This is best done with coaching, ideally group coaching. You can create a zoom meeting, invite your community and your email list and answer their questions. It would be a good way to strengthen the community.
4. Consulting: When you are doing group coaching, there will be a few people who will find your content and ideas extremely valuable. Charge a small fee for consulting and help them on 1to1 calls.
5. Courses: You can package your content into self-paced courses or cohort based courses. Charge a small fee for it because now this is gated and premium content. This will help you generate enough revenue to reinvest your time, energy and money back into growing your community. You can even run paid ads at this point.
6. Continuity: Courses are one time revenue. Convert your course into a mastermind program and charge a recurring fee for people in your premium community. This will help you make more predictable revenue and a perfect upsell for people who get your consulting and coaching.
7. Capital: Once you set your funnel right, through the cashflow, you will build capital. You can either withdraw this capital and invest in bitcoin, real estate, stocks or other channels, or you can go ahead and reinvest this capital into growing your own business.
8. Core Team: You need to build your core team to manage the business in which you have invested your capital in. This can be a lean team in single digits, ideally 3-5 high performance team members who will complement you.
9. Code: The best way to reinvest the capital in your own business is to build apps for the needs of your community. You can build a tool that makes your client's life easier and charge a recurring fee for using the app.
10. Competency: Now that you have built a solid business (that generates at least a $1m a year in profit, you need to stay relevant in your niche. For which you need to focus on building your moat and competency so that your competitors don't eat you away.
