Introducing the first paid community on Skool — "$1 Club". Its purpose: To demonstrate the paid community experience. For $1 /month you'll get to: 1. See what it's like to subscribe to a paid community (as a member) 2. See what it's like to sell a paid community (as an admin) 3. Be first in line to use the payments system (for your own community) Click here to join $1 Club. We don't expect you to pay $1 /month ongoing. You can cancel your subscription at any time with 1-click. We're doing this as a live demonstration of our payments system. See you on the other side!
The subscription needs to be designed for India with UPI payments option and recurring subscription through UPI (called UPI Mandates). Else no one will pay via CC in India. We are also struggling to pay for skool from India in spite of having international credit cards. Most online audience in India doesn't have CCs.
The card which I used to pay for the skool subscription for the first month is not going through. This was expected. I have tried 3 different cards, and it's the same issue with all of them. It is asking for OTP, but there is a UI/UX error where I am not able to enter the OTP. We URGENTLY need an alternative payment method until this issue is solved. We have 3,300+ members now and 5+ courses on the classroom, and we CANNOT AFFORD TO MOVE AWAY FROM SKOOL RIGHT NOW. @Sam Ovens & team... Please take an alternative form of payment for now (ideally bank wire payment) for an entire year upfront (we don't mind paying for 12 months) until you solve this issue for Indian creators. (In the mean time I am checking if I can open a new Singapore bank account and get a card issued from there, but it will cost a lot for us in opening and maintaining the account as we might have to incorporate a new company itself).
Tried using a friend's card from Singapore account and that's also asking for OTP. Please check the error, I am not able to copy or enter the code on the screen.
Got a card from a friend who is outside the country and somehow got this payment through. But yet to figure out a long term solution. Please keep me posted. Also the group got archived immediately without any time given to us as we tried multiple payment methods. This cannot happen next month. @Sid Sahasrabuddhe @Nick Hauser Please note.
Looking at Sam's journey closely from Accelerator to Skool... I have made this 10C format. The 10Cs of Consultant Growth: 1. Content 2. Community 3. Coaching 4. Consulting 5. Courses 6. Continuity 7. Capital 8. Core Team 9. Code 10. Competency 1. Content: Build content via blogs, newsletters, YouTube videos and books to build your authority. Without content, you will not be discovered. 2. Community: Once the content attracts an audience, you build a community around it. Initially the content creator will be the voice but eventually other people will start participating and adding content to the community. 3. Coaching: Once you have built a community, you need to provide deeper value to the community. This is best done with coaching, ideally group coaching. You can create a zoom meeting, invite your community and your email list and answer their questions. It would be a good way to strengthen the community. 4. Consulting: When you are doing group coaching, there will be a few people who will find your content and ideas extremely valuable. Charge a small fee for consulting and help them on 1to1 calls. 5. Courses: You can package your content into self-paced courses or cohort based courses. Charge a small fee for it because now this is gated and premium content. This will help you generate enough revenue to reinvest your time, energy and money back into growing your community. You can even run paid ads at this point. 6. Continuity: Courses are one time revenue. Convert your course into a mastermind program and charge a recurring fee for people in your premium community. This will help you make more predictable revenue and a perfect upsell for people who get your consulting and coaching. 7. Capital: Once you set your funnel right, through the cashflow, you will build capital. You can either withdraw this capital and invest in bitcoin, real estate, stocks or other channels, or you can go ahead and reinvest this capital into growing your own business. 8. Core Team: You need to build your core team to manage the business in which you have invested your capital in. This can be a lean team in single digits, ideally 3-5 high performance team members who will complement you.
