Google Meet LINKS // From Event Pop-Up in Calendar

Hi. I've created a Google Meet in the future and posted its link in the Event on the Calendar. When I navigate to the link, it only offers static info to be copied and pasted. QUESTION: Since the meeting isn't technically live yet I was thinking that's why the link doesn't work; does anyone know if the Meeting becomes hyperlinked when it's in session? If not, do you recommend the students copy and paste the link to gain access to the meeting?
