Can you invite a churned member?

Hi - my member was having difficulty with initial step of creating his profile (he's 83 yrs old and isn't very tech oriented). I wanted to help him by signing him up myself, so I removed him from the group, but now that I'm trying to sign him up, the system is blocking me because the email already exists. I tried to re-activate his profile under 'Churned', but that doesn't appear to be an option. Any advice? Thanks in advance
