If someone is trying to sell you on THE budgeting method, run far and fast. There is no such thing.
The best budget is the one you will actually use. The one built around your personality, your lifestyle, and your habits.
Some people thrive with an app. Some need a spreadsheet they built themselves. That is me! Some do it on paper and that works just fine. That was me too for a long time.
The method matters less than the consistency.
A successful budget is one you come back to because it fits your real life. It stops feeling like extra work and becomes part of how you move through your week. Seamless. Sustainable.
If budgeting never seemed to stick for you, the problem was probably not you. It was probably the method.
One more thing worth knowing: tracking past expenses is not budgeting. It is gathering data to create the budget. There is a difference.
