Start by making it something they can actually use — in the life they are already living.
Not in YOUR marketing plan. In THEIR daily routine. Their workspace. Their travel bag. Their Sunday morning. Somewhere the product actually fits.
The product category matters less than most people think.
- A notebook can be kept or forgotten.
- A tote can be used daily or donated.
- A mug can become someone's favorite or sit in the back of a cabinet.
The same product with the same logo lands completely differently depending on whether it was chosen for a real moment or just because it seemed like a good idea at the time.
Merch people want starts BEFORE the product is chosen. It starts with the person, the moment, and the reason the product is being sent.
Before you place your next order, ask this: What real moment in my audience's life does this product fit — and would they reach for it there?
If you can't answer that — nobody is going to want it. So, don't waste your marketing budget.
